Where are you based and where can you provide musicians?

We are based in Brisbane and Melbourne and can provide musicians throughout South East Queensland (Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Toowoomba, Ipswich), Northern NSW & Hinterland (Byron Bay, Bangalow) as well as Melbourne, Geelong and Bendigo area.

Who are your musicians?

Our musicians are some of the best performers in Australia, having performed with orchestras such as Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Victoria, West Australian Symphony Orchestra, and alongside prominent musicians such as Kate Miller-Heidke, Neil Finn, Conchita Wurst and Teddy Tahu Rhodes.

Our musicians have performed in venues such as the Sydney Opera House, Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, Brisbane City Hall, Hillstone St Lucia, The Refinery, Lightspace, The W Hotel, Home of The Arts (Gold Coast), The Star Casino (Gold Coast), The Valley Estate (Gold Coast), Austinvilla Estate, Sirromet Vinery, O’Reilly’s Vineyards, Gabbinbar Homestead, Australia Zoo, Montville Chapel, Flaxton Ragdens, Hinterland House Bungalow, Hamer Hall (Melbourne), Arts Centre Melbourne, The Crown Melbourne, Ulumbarra Theatre Bendigo, etc.

What events do you play at and who will be my contact on the day?

We play at almost any event you can think of!

Our musicians perform at weddings, corporate functions, family events such as birthdays, baby showers, morning teas, as well as background music for your guests in restaurants and hotels.

The contact person on the day will be one of our musicians engaged for your event, meaning they will also be on site an hour before the performance for any last minute questions or directions you may have.

Can I choose the music and do you accept song requests? What do the musicians wear?

Definitely!

At Artela, we are always happy to play your music style and song choices. We can play light classical, jazz, popular, movie, Disney and most other genres. We arrange the majority of the music ourselves so we do need a month's notice for any special song request that are not in our repertoire. 

Our musicians will play in performance elegant blacks, however we may colour coordinate for your event.

What does Artela need to perform? Do you play outside?

We are almost completely self-sufficient.

We require a flat and levelled (i.e. no slope or bump), dry surface to play on. If the playing environment is outside, the instruments need to be shaded from direct sunlight and possible rain.

Other than that, we provide our own equipment (instruments, chairs and stands) and if required we can provide amplification.

What set up time does Artela need and is that included in the price?

We usually arrive about an hour before we are meant to start performing and this is included in the price.

For example, if you need us to play from 2pm-3pm, we will be there at 1pm and we will only charge for the one performance hour. However, if we need to wait, we do charge for waiting time. For example, if you need us to perform from 2-3pm and later on from 4-5pm, our fee will be for the entire 3 hours 2-5pm.

Travel fees are an extra cost, depending on the distance of your event to our nearest musician.
